freezer bags freezing chicken

  • How long can Chicken be kept frozen before use? Up to 3 months, Supa Mama® freezer bags extend food life and delay freezer burn. Remember to right the date on the bag!
  • Can I marinate fresh chicken and then freeze? Yes, but do note that when frozen the marinating process stops and only starts again as the chicken thaws. #BONUSTIP to keep your meals unique and interesting, make two or three marinades when portioning and add to your chicken before freezing.
  • Can I marinate frozen chicken instead of fresh chicken? Yes, keep in mind that only once your chicken thaws will the marinating process start. Marinate for 2 – 24 hours from thawing. DO NOT refreeze chicken once thawed.
  • How do I thaw chicken? The safest way is in the fridge overnight, however if need be, place the freezer bag in cold water for a few hours.
  • How do I marinade my chicken in a freezer bag without freezing? Pop your chicken and marinade into the freezer bag and into the fridge for 2 – 24 hours! Don’t marinade it for longer than that.
